Monsoon plantation drive launched in Harnai with community participation

 

 

Harnai, Under the directives of Secretary Forests and Wildlife Balochistan Imran Gichki and Chief Conservator Ali Imran, the Monsoon Plantation Campaign 2026 was formally inaugurated in Harnai with a dignified ceremony. The event saw active participation from district administration, forest officials, educational institutions, and civil society representatives.

 

The campaign was launched with officials and dignitaries planting saplings, symbolizing a collective commitment to environmental protection. Participants included Deputy Commissioner Harnai Arshad Hussain Jamali, Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Saleem Tareen, Divisional Forest Officer Muhammad Zakir Marri, Vice Principal of Degree College Harnai Syed Ahmed Soomro, Range Forest Officer Janan Khan, Deputy Ranger Forest Molvi Ghulam Rabbani, Forester Ajab Khan, Naib Tehsildar Kaleemullah Tareen, and other officers.

 

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Jamali highlighted the importance of plantation, stating that it is not only a source of beautification but also a vital measure against environmental pollution, ensuring clean air and a safe future for coming generations. He stressed that planting and nurturing trees during the monsoon season is a national and moral responsibility.

 

He urged citizens, especially youth, students, and institutions, to actively participate in the campaign. “Planting a tree is a form of sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity), and every citizen should plant at least one tree and ensure its care,” he said.

 

The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for the nation’s security, prosperity, and the success of the plantation drive. The Forest Department reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging citizens to plant trees and contribute to a greener, healthier environment.
