Post-Independence flag hoisting ceremony held at sunset point Quetta, tourism directorate highlights unity and progress
The Directorate of Tourism, Balochistan government, organized a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony at Sunset Point, Quetta Cantonment, as part of post-Independence celebrations. The national flag was raised, and special prayers were offered for the country’s security, stability, development, and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Tourism Balochistan, Gehram Bakhshi Baloch, extended heartfelt Independence Day greetings to the nation. He described freedom as a divine blessing and the outcome of the timeless sacrifices of forefathers. He urged citizens to value independence by playing their full role in the country’s progress, prosperity, and stability.
Highlighting Balochistan’s rich natural beauty, historical heritage, and cultural diversity, Gehram Bakhshi Baloch noted that the Tourism Directorate is actively working to make the province’s tourist destinations more attractive for domestic and international visitors. He emphasized that promoting tourism not only enhances Balochistan’s positive image but also creates new employment opportunities and strengthens the local economy.
He pointed out that sites like Sunset Point Quetta reflect the province’s scenic charm while representing its culture, history, and natural legacy. He reaffirmed the Directorate’s commitment to continue integrated efforts for tourism development, ensuring that the sector contributes to economic growth and community welfare.
Gehram Bakhshi Baloch further stated that Independence Day reminds the nation of unity, discipline, brotherhood, and national cohesion. “Pakistan’s development and prosperity is our shared responsibility, and we must rise above personal and collective interests to contribute to the country’s progress,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the security, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan, and for peace and well-being in Balochistan.
