Three-day training workshop launched to enhance capacity of textbook writers and editors in Balochistan
The Balochistan Textbook Board has inaugurated a three-day training workshop aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of book writers, editors, and reviewers to improve the quality of textbooks and align them with modern educational standards. The opening ceremony was addressed by Secretary Secondary Education Lal Jan Jaffar and Chairman Balochistan Textbook Board Dr. Gulab Khan Khilji.
The workshop, organized under the auspices of the Balochistan Textbook Board, brings together a wide range of participants including book writers, editors, reviewers, professors, assistant professors, PhD scholars, and senior education experts. Officials from the Textbook Board, including Dr. Niaz Tareen, Secretary of the Board, Nematullah Khan Kakar, Director Curriculum, and Fatima Mandokhail, Director PITE, also attended the session.
Speaking at the inauguration, Secretary Secondary Education Lal Jan Jaffar emphasized that the preparation of quality and effective textbooks is fundamental to the improvement of the education system. He noted that providing students with accessible, research-based, and modern learning material requires continuous enhancement of the professional skills of authors, editors, and reviewers.
Dr. Gulab Khan Khilji highlighted that textbooks are not merely collections of information but vital tools for shaping students’ intellectual, academic, and creative abilities. He stressed the importance of accuracy, research, language, and age-appropriate content in textbook development. He welcomed the initiative, stating that such training programs provide writers and editors with opportunities to strengthen their skills in modern teaching methods, curriculum requirements, and effective educational content creation.
The Chairman reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to delivering high-quality and modern textbooks to students across the province, pledging to continue working with education experts and authors to raise standards.
During the three-day workshop, participants will be trained in effective writing, editing, reviewing, accuracy of content, language refinement, and preparation of curriculum material in line with contemporary educational needs.
On the occasion, Secretary Lal Jan Jaffar also inaugurated the official website of the Balochistan Textbook Board. The platform offers complete e-books, video courses, curriculum records, and access for professors, lecturers, and students. A key feature of the website is its feedback and review system, enabling students and teachers to share their opinions on study material, thereby fostering interactive learning and ensuring equal educational opportunities for children across the province.
